That is amazing! I had the opportunity to visit Pompeii this past summer and it was breathtaking how well preserved everything was after so many years of being covered up. Most of the structures there are damaged, but for how ancient they are they are in relatively good shape. There is an exhibit there that has hundreds of ceramic pots, various tools, and even “mummified” castings of people and animals that are still in almost perfect condition. The most interesting aspect of Pompeii for me was how developed it was. Pompeii was a massive trade hub, and it was set up very efficiently for that. They had roads made up of large stones placed in the ground, and on each side of the road were storefronts that resembled many U.S. shopping districts. They even incorporated a drainage system for the roads so that the stores would not flood. It is really cool that they are still making new discoveries there.
